Nothing better than that moment in which we buy our mobile device and take it out of the box for the first time, so new and so nice. Of course that time is not eternal, and when it begins to pass the time, we’re noticing that some things no longer work as before or that the manufacturer has ceased to support the updates of the same.
If this is your case and you have one of those older devices that do not receive updates, sure there is a version of CyanogenMod that can bring back that spark of life that lacks. This week the developers of CyanogenMod have taken it up to version 14.1 for some models of devices that otherwise would have stayed without update.
CyanogenMod 14.1 Nightlies comes to more devices
CyanogenMod is widely known for the developers of Android’s most popular and the ROM custom created by the team of Cyanogen represent the exact reason why Android is an open source software. In addition, the ROMs are really good to modify the device and try to draw your true potential by adjusting the software to the maximum.
Also another feature that you have the custom ROMs is that the owners of gadgets on Android older that stopped receiving support for a time can easily install the latest operating systems such as Android Nougat 7.0. And speaking of operating systems, the latest custom ROM created by CyanogenMod is based on the latest Android 7.0 Google and the custom operating system has been made compatible with a lot of devices.
The team of CM announced that it was working on developing the new CM14.1 in August and that it would issue the Nightly version of CM14.1 in November. What is important to keep in mind is that this ROM is a Nightly version, meaning that is still in its beta phase, and the operating system have some errors.
The operating system Nightly CM14.1 you can install now on the following devices:
Samsung Galaxy S5
despite the fact that the errors may not be so annoying, the operating system is not equipped with the full experience, Nougat, which means that it does not have all of the latest features, such as capabilities of the camera, but these problems make up a little bit. Beyond that, we are in a major step that expands the range of devices that can be updated, unofficial, to the latest version of the Google mobile operating system.
